Forage the Woods, Discover the Art of Fermentation, and Take Home Your Own Wild Sauerkraut.

A Hands-On Foraging & Fermentation Experience

Spend a day immersed in nature and the ancient craft of fermentation. We’ll begin with a guided 4-hour foraging walk, exploring the woods and surrounding landscape to identify and gather edible plants, herbs, and other wild ingredients that can be used in fermentation. Along the way, you’ll learn about seasonal edibles, sustainable harvesting, and how the wild landscape provides unique flavours for fermented foods.

After foraging, we’ll return to a cozy woodland cabin to dive into the art of fermentation. You’ll learn step-by-step how to create a wild sauerkraut, including techniques for balancing flavours, proper preparation, and storing your ferments so they last. Each participant will prepare a batch to take home, continuing the fermentation process in their own kitchen.

During the workshop, we’ll also share a light lunch featuring wild-fermented foods — a chance to taste and experience the flavours of fermentation in action.

By the end of the day, you’ll leave with practical skills, a deeper connection to the landscape, and your own batch of wild sauerkraut to enjoy.
